MSEDCL engineer booked for child’s death due to negligence

Pune : NpNews24 Online  – Pune Crime News | A case has been registered against an engineer of Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Co Ltd (MSEDCL) Katraj for the death of a 14-year-old boy due to lack of safety measures regarding the high tension (HT) power line. (Pune Crime News)

 

The accused has been identified as Shivling Sharanappa Bore. The incident took place on October 23 at 6 pm at Omkar Society in Balkawade Nagar on Katraj-Kondhwa road. Manjunath Pujari (57) from Karve Nagar has lodged a complaint at the Bharati Vidyapeeth Police Station. The deceased boy has been identified as Rishikesh Manjunath Pujari (14).

 

According to the police, in the garden of Omkar Society on Katraj Kondhwa road, the HT power line of MSEDCL was hanging 4 feet above the ground. Even after repeated complaints, the utility did not correct the anmoly. Manjunath Pujari had come to Katraj for some work, along with his son. Rishikesh was a class IX student. As the ball went into the garden while playing, Rishikesh went there to retrieve it.

 

There he received an electric shock from the HT line and was seriously injured due to burns. He died later on October 30 after about 7 days of treatment. The Bharati Vidyapeeth police had registered a case of sudden death. A case has been registered against the engineer in connection with the death of Rishikesh Pujari due to electric shock.
