Maharashtra at fourth spot in sexual crimes against women

There has been a significant increase in the crimes against women in Maharashtra. The NCRB report reveals that Maharashtra is at the fourth spot in the category of crimes against women. According to the report, Rajasthan is at number one spot in the crimes against women. The report once again has highlighted the importance of women’s security in the country. Cities like Mumbai, Nagpur and Pune figure prominently in the list. In the list of cities, Mumbai is at the fifth spot. In Mumbai, more than 4500 crimes against women have been reported and 920 cases have been reported in Nagpur. A survey of crimes against women in 19 cities has revealed these facts.
The number of crimes against women is increasing in the state and other states. Maximum number of crimes against women and other crimes has been reported in Uttar Pradesh. In 2020, 49, 385 crimes were recorded in Uttar Pradesh.
West Bengal is at the second spot and it has recorded 36,439 crimes.
