NCP Political Crisis | Jitendra Awhad appointed as Leader of Opposition and Chief Whip of NCP

MUMBAI : NpNews24 Online  – NCP Political Crisis | One year after the political revolt by Eknath Shinde, one more revolt took place today in the state. Ajit Pawar with the help of some MLAs, rebelled against the party. Ajit Pawar and eight MLAs took the oath as ministers. Ajit Pawar has been appointed as Deputy CM. Now, after the rebellion of Ajit Pawar, some new leaders in NCP have been given some responsibility. Jitendra Awhad has been appointed as the Leader of the Opposition and the party’s Chief Whip. Anil Patil of NCP was the Chief Whip but since Patil has joined Ajit Pawar in his rebellion, Jitendra Awhad has been entrusted with the responsibility of the Leader of the Opposition’s post.
Since Jitendra Awhad has become the Leader of the Opposition, the CM and opposition leader are from the same district. Ekanth Shinde and Awahd are from Thane. This is the first instance that a CM and opposition leader are from the same district.

“The President of NCP is Sharad Pawar and I have been appointed as Chief Whip and the Leader of the Opposition. Hence, when I issue a whip, it will be applicable to all. When you enjoy the benefits and power of a minister, how can you treat the president of the party, who is in his last phase of life, in this manner? This is against the principles of humanity. Even if I die, I will not desert Sharad Pawar,” he said.
