Nashik: One killed after bus rams into a man out for morning walk

Nashik: A 24-year-old died after a speeding bus hit him near Reliance Petrol pump in Pimpalgaon Basant in Nashik on Friday (January 29).  The deceased has been identified as Vaibhav Rajendra Dayama (age 24, resident of Shivajinagar, Pimpalgaon Baswant).

According to police, Vaibhav was out for a morning stroll from Shivaji Nagar to Tollnaka when a speeding bus hit him near the Reliance petrol pump at around 6.30 am on Friday. He died on spot while his friend, Rakesh Balasaheb Waghale was critically injured. His other friend, however, escaped without any injuries.

Witnesses said the driver lost control and hit the deceased and injured. After the accident, the bus driver fled the scene, the police said.

A case has been registered at Pimpalgaon Police station and the search for the bus driver is on. Police Inspector Bhausaheb Patare is further investigating the case.
