Nagpur – Woman arrested for cheating father-in-law of Rs 25 lakhs

NPnews24 Online – In an unusual case, a 32-year-old woman has been arrested by Nagpur police for allegedly cheating her father-in-law of Rs 25 lakhs. She had promised high returns on investing the amount in share market.

The arrested accused woman has been identified Nandini Vijaykumar Bramhe. She was arrested from Pune by Pratapnagar police station staffs. Digambag Ganpatrao Kshirsagar (70), a resident of Gayatrinagar, Nagpur, had lodged the complaint in this regard.

According to police, Kshirsagar has retired from a private company. He used to invest money in the share market and in 2017 met Nandini who worked as agent. She used to visit his house for discussing his investments. Meanwhile, love blossomed between his son and Nandini and they got married soon. Between 2017 and January 2019, she made Kshirisagar invest a lot of money in the share market under pretext that he will get very good returns. When he used to ask for the return, she used to take more money from him and used to handover him the same money as return for previous investments.

Kshirsagar had sold his ornaments besides mortgaged his flat and had invested Rs 25 lakhs through Nandini. However, when he enquired from the company for which Nandini worked, he learnt that she has not invested the money.

After learning about it, Nandini fled to Pune from where police arrested her.
