Nagpur: Three laborers arrested for murdering an elderly supervisor

Nagpur: Three laborers were arrested on Friday (February 19) for killing an elderly supervisor after he asked to go on night duty, the police said. The incident took place around 8 pm on Thursday (Feb 18) in Lokmanya Nagar within the limits of MIDC police station.

The deceased have been identified as Samharu Avadhu Harijan (60), resident of Khurmakhas, Rudrapur, Deoria district, Uttar Pradesh). The accused have been identified as Dinesh Kumar Munna Lala (23), Bajrangi Lalchandra Prasad Gaitam (21) and Sushilkumar Deepchand Gaitam (19), all residents of Mohammadpur Puhaya, Shahajanpur district, Uttar Pradesh. Vikrant Shrikishan Prasad has filed a complaint in this regard.

According to information received, Samharu was also living in Lokmanya Nagar with the accused Dinesh Kumar, Bajrangi and Sushil Kumar. At around 8 pm on Thursday, Samharu asked the three to go to work but the trio refused. Later an argument broke out between them. Accused Dinesh Kumar pulled out a nearby knife and stabbed Samharu and he died on spot.

Upon learning of the incident, MIDC Police personnel Yuvraj Hande along with his colleagues reached the spot. The accused had boarded a bus to Jabalpur after fleeing from the crime scene. However, MIDC police traced their location and detained them from a moving bus on Kamathi road. Police are further investigating the case.
