Mumbai Rain Makes the Situation Worse, Strong Wind Blew At A Speed of 107 kmph, Alert Even Today

Mumbai : Life has been disturbed due to heavy rains in Mumbai for the last few days. People are in bad condition due to rain. Roads are submerged, local trains are closed. On Wednesday, strong winds blew at a speed of 107 km per hour. With this, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has said that heavy rain will continue in Mumbai and its surrounding areas till Thursday morning.

Three high-capacity cranes deployed at the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust in Raigad district were overturned due to strong winds on Wednesday due to heavy rains, but no casualties were reported in the accident. According to IMD, Mumbai received heavy rainfall (more than 20 cm) from 8.30 am to 5.30 pm. Colaba recorded 22.9 cm, Santacruz 8.8 cm. The wind speed reached 70 km per hour and in Colaba at around 5 pm, the wind speed reached 107 km per hour.

Winds at a speed of 70 km per hour are forecast in Mumbai and areas adjacent to the Konkan coast. After that the wind speed is expected to decrease gradually. Maharashtra minister Aditya Thackeray has also appealed to the people to stay at home.

Due to continuous heavy rains and strong winds on Wednesday, life was affected in Mumbai and neighboring Thane and Palghar districts. Suburban train and bus services were also disrupted due to heavy rains. National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and Railway Protection Force (RPF) safely evacuated 290 passengers stranded in two local trains after heavy rains flooded the railway tracks.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday spoke to Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and discussed the situation arising due to heavy rains in Mumbai and surrounding areas and assured them of all possible help.
