Mumbai Police summons actress Kangana Ranaut-Rangoli Chandel for the third time

Mumbai Police has issued a new notice to actress Kangana Ranaut and her sister Rangoli Chandel. They are asked to appear in Bandra Police Station. Kangana has been asked to appear on 23 November and Rangoli on 24 November. Even before this, summons have been sent to them twice. She replied to one saying that there is a marriage in her house and she did not respond to the second summons.

“Kangana Ranaut and Rangoli Chandel summoned by Police, asking them to appear before Bandra Police on 23-24 Nov over “objectionable comments on social media to spread communal tension between 2 groups”, news agency ANI had confirmed the same on Twitter.

An FIR was registered against Kangana and Rangoli by casting director and fitness trainer Munnawar Ali Sayyed at Bandra police in October. He had stated that the sisters were trying to create hatred and communal tension between Hindus and Muslims through their tweets.

Both Kangana and Rangoli were booked under sections 153A (promoting enmity between different groups), 295A (deliberate and malicious act to outrage religious feelings of any class by insulting their religion) and 124A (sedition) of the Indian Penal Code.
