Mrs Serial Killer Review : Mood Killer and Logic Killer, Waste of Money & Time

Mumbai: Seeing the name of Shirish Kunder as the director of Netflix’s ‘Mrs. Serial Killer’, doubts arise about the film because Shirish has already made some bad films before. Shirish chose the theme Murder Mystery. Making a suspense-thriller film is a very difficult task. First, create suspense. The audience must be completely satisfied on the end. General audience also watch such films as ‘film critic’.

While watching this new movie on Netflix, your best friend is going to be the skip button. Keep pressing this till you see Manoj Bajpai on the screen. If someone forces you to watch this film bu pointing a gun on your head, then you can see Bajpai by removing the rest of the actors, like the grain is separated from the straw.

His Character is not matching the story, no attempt has been made to properly explain why he is in this film. Bajpai is playing the role of Dr. Mrityunjoy Mukherjee, who is a gynaecologist by profession. He is accused of killing unmarried pregnant girls. His wife Sona (Jacqueline Fernandes) is trying everything possible to save her husband. There is a police inspector, Imran Shahid, i.e. Mohit Raina, who seems to have an old and unresolved rivalry with this couple.

When the film starts, mentally disturbed Jacqueline is seen mumbling to herself – “Our story is about to end”. At the same time, a young girl tied on a nearby bed shouts, “Whom are you talking to, freak”. At the same time, Jacqueline threatens her with a knife in her hand – “You’ve never seen torture… you will see that now”. It looks like she is directly telling this to the audience and then this torture starts which lasts a little less than 2 hours!

In the hospital that runs Mritunjoy, his wife has a big interference and even it is called Sona Maternity Home, but we never see any staff or attendants there. Everything seems like a setup, like a half-incomplete rehearsal.

Even in the last scene, the hostages who act while trying to get themselves released from the killer, seem quite lax. It seems like they are waiting for someone from the crew team to come and ask them what to do now.

It seems that Jacqueline Fernandes is only asked to look good on camera, it feels that her acting has been dull in front of one of the finest actors Manoj Bajpai, well, it’s not her fault!

Mohit Raina has done a fine job. Aamir Khan’s niece Zayan Mary Khan has debuted in the film. She also appears in some fighting scenes that have been handled with great confidence. Darshan Jariwala has got a role as a friend, which seems to be an incomplete character. Despite all this, the film could have ended in an interesting way! Are there plans on its sequel too? We are worried because the last shot of the film is of Manoj Bajpayee. He deserves a good film. So are we.

Well in-short, Mrs serial killer also ‘Kills’ your time !
