Mother-in-law sets man on fire in Chandan Nagar-Kharadi area

Lakhan Bajirao Kale (32) from Shirur has lodged a complaint at the Chandan Nagar Police Station. The incident took place at 5 pm on Friday on the road leading from Reliance Mall, Kharadi to Kharadi village. The Chandan Nagar police have arrested father-in-law Ranjit alias Gendya Yajindar Bhosale, mother-in-law Basundi Ranjit alias Gendya Bhosale, brother-in-law Altaf Vijay Kale, wife Pedam Lakhan Kale, brother-in-law Kavkar Ranjit alias Gendya Bhosale, all from Kharadi.
A case of attempt to murder has been filed against them.
According to the police, there is a family dispute between Lakhan Kale and his wife Pedam. His wife, son and daughter are not living with the complainant. On Friday evening, while Lakhan was sitting under a tree, his mother-in-law, father-in-law and others came.
They beat Lakhan and poured petrol on him. Then the mother-in-law set him on fire. Lakhan’s stomach, back, neck, chest and both hands received serious burns and he is being treated at the Sassoon Hospital.
