Mohan a MLA from Kondagaon constituency of congress party, amid reports of internal issues after a landslide victory of congress party in assembly election.

There was a speculation that party to choose from Kondagaon MLA Mohan Markam or Bastar MP Deepka Baij.

And party president issued a letter, appointing MLA Mohan Markam as the state party president.
