Modi government may officially declare Koo as Indian ‘Twitter’

New Delhi : The Made in India Desi Twitter Koo app launched as an alternative to micro-blogging site Twitter has become quite popular in the last few days. Almost all the accounts of the government have been created on the Koo app. Apart from this, the government is also promoting this app. The Koo app also showed its power in the self-reliant India App Challenge. It is now reported that the Indian government is officially launching the Koo app as an alternative to Twitter.

An ET report claimed that the Narendra Modi government may soon officially announce the Koo app as an Indian alternative to Twitter. The report says that the government can also declare Koo app as the first government communication platform. It is being claimed that the information will be shared on the Koo app by the government ministry first and then the link of Koo will be shared on Twitter.

It is worth noting that recently the French security expert had warned the users of ‘Koo’ that those who have accounts on this app are not safe. Their data is being leaked. Security expert Baptiste said he spent 30 minutes on the Koo app on Twitter requesting users and found that the Indian micro-blogging platform was leaking sensitive information of its users such as email address, name and birthday as well as various other information. He made several tweets to detail his research about Koo App.

Following this claim, Koo’s co-founder and CEO Unmaye Radhakrishna has said that the data leak controversy is being made unnecessarily. The claim made about the data is the data taken after the permission of the users. When a user creates his profile on Koo, information like email, mobile number, date of birth, gender and education are taken from him.
