Missed three dates in court over cheque bounce petty amount, magistrate direct the suspect to prison

In a bizarre incident, a court of judicial magistrate first class V B Gulve Patil on Wednesday has directed a 55-year-old man to go behind Yerawada Central Prison.

In a case of cheque bounce of RS 20,000 defendant fails to remain present in court Raja Rao has been directed to go behind the bar.
According to the prosecution case, “Sumeru Beavrages private travel company had filed a cheque bounce case against Raja Rao of Rs 20,000 on which on three date failure of such magistrate Gulve Patil on Wednesday directed the defendant.
Magistrate Gulve Patil on 5.30 pm asks for the witness on which he paid RS 10,000 but failure on which Rao was sent to prison.
Rao said,” I am duped at 5.30 pm I was told by the court to adjust it how will I do it. At least considering my age they should have taken. As I am not hardened, criminal.”
