Medical Shops Now Restricted to Give Cough & Cold Medicine Without Prescription

Udaipur : According to the instructions of the Medical and Health Department, chemist or drug dealer in Rajasthan state has been instructed not to provide cold, cough and fever medicines without prescription.

Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr. Dinesh Kharadi said that according to instructions received from the state level, the initial symptoms of flu and corona infection (cough, cold, sore throat and fever) are prima facie similar. It has come to the notice of the state government that, due to fear of social isolation in the present situation, confusion about corona infection and hesitation to investigate corona infection, some individuals affected by these symptoms are taking first aid medicines from the nearby drug dealers without medical consultation. In such a situation, due to the victims not going to medical institutions and getting themselves examined, their data retention and corona infection are not being investigated.

Dr. Dinesh Kharad told that the drug dealer should take the name-address and telephone number of such person and immediately inform the Drug Controller Officer or in-charge of the medical institute. He has also instructed all the Drug Controller Officers or in-charge of the medical institute to make this information available daily to the Chief Medical Officer of his district so that the team of the department can contact such persons and take action for screening and investigation etc.
