Maratha Community Leaders asks to give decision on their demands along with CM and Revenue Minister’s apologies

Maratha Kranti Morcha has took rest for a while in few regions of Maharashtra though sometimes the glimpse of the protest comes in light.

Now the Maratha Community has given the Ultimatum to the state government to fulfil the demands. If the government fails to give any concrete decision regarding Maratha reservation in two days, Jail Bharo movement will be organized on August 1.

In Mumbai, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has called an all-party meeting on Saturday to discuss reservation demanded by the Marathas in jobs and educational institutes. This comes after an agitation by the community members sparked violence in parts of the state. “The purpose of the meeting is to get the leaders of Opposition on board to find an amicable way out of the problem. Also, probable formulas to diffuse the unrest will be discussed,” said a source in the government. The meeting will take place at the Vidhan Bhavan in Mumbai.

On the backdrop of Mumbai Bandh, activists of the Maratha community had burnt to and demolished the properties in Thane and other places in Mumbai. In reference to these protests, state government filed cases against protesters.

Therefore, the government has been given two-day by Maratha Community. Maratha community has demanded to take back the false cases filed against the protesters, take action against policemen who did laathi-charge. The meeting also demanded that Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Revenue Minister Chandrakant Patil should apologize to the Maratha community. If these demands are not accepted in the next 2 days, agitators have warned that they will perform Jail Bharo Movement on August 1.

The protest of Maratha community, which has been going since last 8 days is showing signs of growing. In it, the statements made by political leaders are causing the agitation to increase the intensity. That is why the movement of the Maratha community continues in many districts of the state. The government is still being criticized by the gross Maratha community of Mumbai. Meanwhile, on this backdrop, a meeting of all Opposition Leaders in the Legislative Assembly has been called in the Legislature this afternoon.
