Man died by suicide few days after wife ends life after cop rapes her at gun point in Osmanabad

Aurangabad: Few days after a woman died by suicide in Osmanabad after a policeman Haribhau Kolekar raped her at gun point, her husband too died by suicide in Taka village in Ausa taluka after sharing a video. In the video, the man blamed the cop and his in-laws before taking the extreme step.

In the video shared by the woman’s husband before dying by suicide, he said, “Haribhau Kolekar has ruined my life. My wife was blackmailed and repeatedly raped, forced her to attempt suicide”. “Hairbhau Kolekar has threatened that he would get out of the case as he has contacts with influential people”, he added.

In the video posted on his social media, he gives another reason for his suicide. He said that his in-laws family was behind his suicide. He said that his in-laws abused him following his wife’s death.

Few day back, a constable attached to the City police  station in Osmanabad town has been arrested on charges of rape and abetting suicide after a 32-year-old woman ended her life and left a suicide note implicating him.

Haribhau Kolekar (40) was charged and arrested on Wednesday, soon after the victim’s husband lodged a complaint. A local court has remanded him in police custody till March 9.
