Man booked for threatening girl after she refused to marry him

PIMPRI: A man was booked on charges of molestation and defaming a girl after she refused to marry him. The incident took place between February and March 5, 2021.

The accused has been identified as Vaibhav Pandurang Gawde, a native of Belgaum, Karnataka and presently, residing in Katraj. The victim has lodged a complaint at MIDC Bhosari police station.

According to the police, the accused was angry as the girl was not marrying him. Vaibhav apparently spoke ill of the plaintiff’s sister and relatives repeatedly on Facebook and over phone. He constantly threatened her by saying, “If you don’t marry me, I will commit suicide. I will defame you.”

MIDC Bhosari police are further investigating the case.
