Man attacks his mother-in-law with knife at Hadapsar police station; major incident averted by vigilant PSI

Pune : NpNews24 Online  – Pune Crime News | A woman came to the Hadapsar Police Station with her daughter to lodge a complaint of domestic violence. Her son-in-law attacked her with a knife on the pretext of apologizing and pretending to fall at her feet saying that there was no dispute. A PSI who was nearby stopped him and hence a major loss was averted. The police have arrested the son-in-law. (Pune Crime News)

 

The accused has been identified as Mangesh Mahada Tare (30) from Vadgaon Sheri. A case of attempt to murder has been filed and he has been arrested. The incident took place at 8:15 pm on Saturday at the Hadapsar police station.

 

Pushpa Damodar Palve (45) from Manjari was injured. Her husband Damodar Rambhau Palve (49) of Manjari has lodged a complaint at the Hadapsar Police Station.

 

According to the police, Mangesh Tare and his wife Pooja live in Vadgaon Sheri. Pooja came to her mother’s home as there were frequent quarrels between her and her husband. The complainant, his wife and daughter, grandson had come to Hadapsar police station to lodge a complaint against the son-in-law. After knowing this, Mangesh also came to the police station. He tried to convince that there was no dispute between them. Saying he wanted to apologise, he pretended to bend down to fall at his mother-in-law’s feet. From his jerkin, he took out the knife and started attacking his mother-in-law. The knife hit her cheek. Her grandson Viraj was also hurt on the cheek. Mangesh was unable to hit again as PSI Santosh Gore caught his arm before he could attack further. The police arrested Mangesh and API Thorbole is investigating.
