Maharashtra : Highest single day spike of over 17000 Covid19 cases

Mumbai : Coronavirus has wreaked havoc in Maharashtra. Corona cases are constantly increasing in the state. After which the concern of the administration and the people has increased considerably. In Maharashtra, 17864 new cases of coronavirus have been reported in the last 24 hours, which is the highest figure 2021.

After seeing a fresh surge in the cases in the state, on Tuesday, the Union Health Ministry has said that Maharashtra is at the beginning of the “second wave” of the Covid-19 epidemic. The Health Ministry has also said that a lot of limited active efforts are being made to track people in the state and carrying out corona testing.

The latest 17,864 cases of coronavirus have led to a total of 23,47,328  caseload in Maharashtra. Among the new cases in the state, Mumbai alone has 1922 cases.

The state has reported 87 Covid-19 deaths in the last 24 hours. With this, the death rate of people in the state has reached 2.26 percent. Maharashtra currently has 1,38,813 active cases.

The Union Health Ministry said on Tuesday that Maharashtra is at the beginning of a “second wave” of the Covid-19 pandemic. The observation by the Ministry of Health came a week after a central team visited the state to assess the situation among the increasing cases of covid-19.

The Ministry of Health also said that there are “very limited proactive efforts” to track people, conduct trials, separate cases and quarantine contacts and there is no adherence to Covid guidelines among people in the state. Currently 6,52,531 people are in home quarantine and 6,067 people are in institutional quarantine in Maharashtra.
