Maharashtra : 32 ‘Shiv Chhatrapati Award’ winner players will return awards; All demands government jobs

Sangli : State government gives Shiv Chhatrapati State Sports Award to encourage players; But the state government’s promise to give government jobs to these players has proved to be a false commitment. Therefore, 32 players from the state have decided to return the Shiv Chhatrapati award if no decision is taken till the Shiv Jayanti.

In the sports field, players constantly try to win for Maharashtra on national and international levels. After passing all the tests, the players get the Shiv Chhatrapati award. After receiving this honor and leaving the field, these players face financial difficulties due to lack of jobs. Many Shiv Chhatrapati award winning players are involved in farming, painting and many similar works.

The state government has demanded that the players who have received Shiv Chhatrapati award be given jobs in the government service as per their qualifications. The government had promised to give them government jobs after their demand on Shiv Jayanti last year. However, no one has got a job yet. Now, this year’s Shiv Jayanti is on February 19. The state government has not taken a firm decision in this regard. On February 20, 32 players from the state will return the Shiv Chhatrapati award. All these players have come together through social media. They made a statement in this regard to the state government.
