Maharashtra : 229 students tests COVID19 positive in a hostel in Washim

Mumbai : The cases of coronavirus infection are once again increasing rapidly in Maharashtra. On Thursday, 229 students and 3 staff members turned out to be corona positive in a hostel in Washim district of Maharashtra. Around 327 students from Amravati, Hingoli, Nanded, Buldhana, Washim and Akola are present in this hostel. After the matter came to light, the hostel has been declared as a containment zone and the students found positive have been isolated.

Not only this, Corona cases have increased across the country. In the last 24 hours, 16,738 new cases of corona infection have been reported from across the country and 138 people have died. This is the first time after about a month that the number of corona victims has increased by more than 15,000 a day.

The Health Ministry released the figures on Thursday, stating that the total number of Covid cases has gone up to 1,10,46,914, while the death toll has gone up to 1,56,705. According to the updated data at 8 am, this is the first time since January 29, when so many cases have been reported in a single day.

Earlier, on January 29, 18,855 new cases were received. Apart from this, if we talk about the single day death toll, then after 26 days, such a large number has come out. Apart from this, the figure of those who beat Corona has also increased to 1,07,38,501. With this, Covid-19 recovery rate has increased to 97.21% in India. The death rate is 1.42 percent.
