Madhya Pradesh Governor Lalji Tandon Breath Last in Lucknow, Was Admitted to Medanta Hospital

Lucknow : Madhya Pradesh Governor Lalji Tandon died today. He breathed his last at Medanta Hospital in Lucknow. This information was tweeted by his son Ashutosh Tandon. Lalji Tandon was ill for the last several days. He was 85.

Lalji Tandon was undergoing treatment at Medanta Hospital for about one and a half months. He was admitted after kidney and liver problems.

He was admitted to the hospital on 11 June due to difficulty in breathing, fever and difficulty in urination. Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel was given the additional charge of Madhya Pradesh due to the deteriorating health of Tandon.

Originally active in the politics of Uttar Pradesh, Tandon has also been a minister in the BJP governments of the state many times and was known as an ally of Atal Bihari Vajpayee. He took charge of Vajpayee’s constituency Lucknow and was also elected to the 15th Lok Sabha from Lucknow after Vajpayee’s death.
