Liquor Shop Owner Booked After the Bill of Rs 52,841 Goes Viral

Bangalore : In Lockdown 3, the government gave permission to open liquor shops. After this, on 4 May, people gathered in long queue outside liquor shops in many states of the country. Meanwhile, the photo of the liquor bill went viral on social media. It was seen in the photo that someone bought alcohol worth Rs 52,841. After the photo surfaced on social media, questions started arising about how the government rules were being broken.

 

 

 

 

This bill for liquor purchase is from Karnataka. After the photo surfaced, both the seller and the customer are in trouble.

Shopkeeper broke the rules of selling liquor
According to the report, the name of the shop selling liquor is Vanilla Spirit Zone. It is in South Bangalore. From there, a person sold 13.5 liters of liquor and 35 liters of beer. The liquor bill went viral on social media. The bill also reached the Excise Department of Karnataka. A case was registered after this. A case has been filed against the shopkeeper for selling liquor in excess of the prescribed limit.

The rule says that 18 liters of beer or 2.6 liters of country liquor can be sold to a person in a day.

Shopkeeper said- group of eight people bought liquor
According to the report, the officers questioned the owner of the liquor shop. He told that the liquor was purchased by a group of eight people. But the payment was made with a single card. The Excise Department says that the statements of the shopkeeper are being investigated. Action will then be decided.

At the same time, the person who bought the alcohol has not yet been identified. The Excise Department is also preparing to file a case against him.

Another liquor receipt amounting to Rs 95, 347 also went viral on Twitter as it was billed in a wine shop in Bengaluru as well. The name of the store wasn’t visible on the bill but it was clear that the shop was located in Dollars Colony in the Karnataka capital.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The Excise Department said that all the cases are being investigated. Whoever is found guilty will be fined severely. According to a news, on May 4 in Karnataka, liquor worth about 45 crores was sold.

Long queues were seen outside standalone liquor shops across several states on Monday as people lined up from early morning. In order to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus, liquor shops have been directed to abide by certain guidelines of social distancing.

However, several liquor shops shut down in Delhi as large crowds ignored social distancing norms.

Liquor shops shut down all over India after the nationwide lockdown was announced on March 24. The coronavirus lockdown has been extended for the third time and will continue till May 17.
