Laxman Mane announces new political party

NPnews24 Online Pune: Laxman Mane from Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi (VBA) announced his new political party ‘Maharashtra Bahujan Vanchit Aghadi’ during a press conference in Pune on Wednesday.

Mane said that the party’s official launch will be held on July 29 at Balgandharva Rangmandir in Pune and the party would work with the Left front in the State.

“We are in contact with all the Left parties in Maharashtra and all other parties apart from Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Shiv Sena. We have received positive response from them and we would work together with them in the forthcoming Assembly elections to oust the ruling BJP-Shiv Sena from the State,” said Mane

“We will hold a meeting the Congress-NCP alliance as well for seat allocation. Our main aim is to fight against BJP-Shiv Sena and not let them to come to power in the State as we won’t let Modi’s dream of dictatorship to get fulfilled,” he added.

“The party was already registered in 2015 under the name Bahujan Samajwadi Republican Congress and we have already filled application to the Election Commision for change of name,” he informed.

Mane had earlier launched an attack on VBA Chief Prakash Ambedkar alleging that Ambedkar had let RSS-BJP elements into the party.

“When I left Prakash Ambedkar and VBA, RSS captured it and is working as the office bearer. We contested on 48 seats in Lok Sabha elections. However, that helped BJP in getting 10 to 12 more seats. I always suggested that we should go with Left and Congress but I guess VBA’s agenda was something else. Therefore, I decided to leave the party and starting my own,” said Mane.

Janata Dal Secular Chief Secretary Retd Judge BG Kolse Patil, who was also present at the press conference, said, “We have a government in the State led by Devendra Fadnavis who has not gone through the floor test even once during these five years.”

“The issues we are focusing on are employment to youths, free health, education, food security and 100 per cent loan waiver for farmers,” Patil informed.
