Komolika is back with her ‘Nikaa’ on StarPlus

Ever since the reboot of the show went on air, everyone is speculating about television’s bad girl people love to hate. The wait is finally over! The iconic character will be played by none other than talented Hina Khan. Popularly known as Akshara, the saree-clad typical bahu in StarPlus’ long-running show ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hain’, Hina will be seen as an antagonist for the first time ever.

Expressing her excitement on playing Komolika, Hina Khan said “Playing Komolika is extremely thrilling however also brings with it a huge responsibility of living it up to the expectations of the viewers. Komolika became a household name who is reminisced even today. She is strongly instilled in the hearts and minds of the viewers. I will try to retain the essence of the old character but with a new spin.”
She further adds, “Komolika is not a typical vamp, she has a lot of shades to her which unfold as the story progresses which enticed me to play the character. Viewers will see me in an entirely new lens and I always wanted to try something new to push myself as an actor.”
