Kashmir : ‘No Government Lasts Forever, We’ll Wait’, Says Omar Abdullah

New Delhi : Political stir has increased in Jammu and Kashmir after the release of many leaders including Dr. Farooq Abdullah, Omar Abdullah, Mehbooba Mufti. At the same time, after being under house arrest for 221 days, Omar Abdullah gave the first interview to a news channel. He said that we are fighting for our right. Farooq Abdullah had raised his voice against Article 370 and is still raising it. The decision of the Center is not in the interest of the people of the state.

On the group meeting, Omar Abdullah said that it is a series started on 4 August 2019. Today we met to give it a proper name, formal structure and a reasonable agenda. This is not an opportunistic alliance. But it is political. It cannot be called a social alliance.

Omar said that this is a constitutional and peaceful way to get back what was unconstitutional and illegal. On China’s internal affairs of Jammu and Kashmir, Omar Abdullah said that Article-370 will come back with the help of China, which is the formula of BJP spokesperson. Our fight is in the Supreme Court. No government lasts forever. we will wait. we will not give up.

It is worth mentioning that on Thursday, National Conference leader Farooq Abdullah called a group group meeting. Those leaders, who attended the meeting included Omar Abdullah, Mehbooba Mufti, Sajjad Lone, and they issued a joint statement on Article 470 on August 4, 2019. All the leaders have condemned the removal of Article 370 and demanded that it be implemented again.

The group of six political parties is fighting for the restoration of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir. The group was formed in a meeting held on 22 August 2019 at the residence of Farooq Abdullah at Gupkar Road. The group has declared that the removal of Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir was unconstitutional and declared a struggle for its restoration.

The foundation for the formation of the Gupkar group was laid a day before the removal of Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir, when the meeting of these six parties, which are members of the group, was held at Farooq Abdullah’s residence on Gupkar Road. A joint statement was issued after the meeting, in which the members of all the parties agreed to maintain the special status, identity and constitution of the state of Jammu and Kashmir.
