Kangana Ranaut flags off Mr India and Miss Diva Pageant 

Np News 24 Mumbai: With the legacy of transforming lives of young talent who have become icons in the glamour and fashion industry, Miss Diva pageant in its 7th edition and Mr India pageant in its 6th edition vows to continue its tradition with an aim to extend whole-hearted support to the new generation who have the potential to lead and represent the country in the future.
With multiple Miss Universe titles Sushmita Sen (1994) Lara Dutta (2000), alongside two Miss Supranational victories Asha Bhat (2014) Srinidhi Shetty (2016) and Srishti Rana’s Miss Asia Pacific win in 2013, the stylish delegates have made the country proud with their presence on the global map.
Moreover, India has continued its rich legacy at Mr World and Mister Supranational pageant with the victories of Rohit Khandelwal (2016) and Prathamesh Maulingkar (2018), the delegates have made the country proud with their presence on the global map, wherein, India continues its strive to bring back the coveted crown.

It was a night of glitz and glamour, as the winners were unveiled in a star-studded ceremony at Rocky Star Cocktail Bar Lounge amidst the fanfare.  The prestigious beauty pageant announced Vartika Singh as Miss Diva Universe 2019, Shefali Sood as Miss Diva Supranational 2019 and Varun Verma as Mr India Supranational 2019.  The event was flagged off by ‘Queen’ actress Kangana Ranaut.

Vartika Singh from Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh who won the coveted title will now represent India at the World’s most prestigious beauty pageant – Miss Universe 2019 later this year. She who had started her journey by participating in Miss Diva 2014, later participated in Femina Miss India 2015 where she won the title of Miss Grand India 2015 followed by representing India at Miss Grand International 2015, where she emerged as 2nd runner-up.

At the Unveiling Ceremony, Vartika was crowned by Nehal Chudasama, the reigning Miss Diva Universe.
Vartika has been a part of her State’s World Bank’s Health Care Project. She has been awarded by Uttar Pradesh government for her initiatives on nutrition and health of women and children and have been instrumental in promoting digital literacy. She is also the face of ‘Mera Lucknow’ Project and believes in the non-violence ideology of Mahatma Gandhi. She leads her own NGO in the name of Pure Humans is also a face to a lot of fashion brands, besides, being the Kingfisher calendar girl in 2017.
Speaking on the occasion, she said, “I am lucky to get another chance to represent my country on such a big platform. I believe that besides hard work, lady luck should be with you and yes, I believe she is with me. I thank the The Times of India Group for having that faith in me, I will try my level best to bring back the ultimate crown in this world. It’s more than dream come true for me and I hope everybody supports me in this journey.”

Shefali Sood from Noida, Uttar Pradesh who won Miss Diva Supranational 2019 the same evening will later represent the country at Miss Supranational 2019. Shefali had participated in Miss India 2017 and won the title of Miss India Uttar Pradesh 2017. In 2018 she also participated in Miss Diva and made it in Top 10. Daughter of Mercantile marine father who travelled over 20 countries, is an avid reader and believes that knowledge gained through education is a key to successful life. At the Unveiling Ceremony, Shefali was crowned by Aditi Hundia, reigning Miss Diva Supranational.

Besides, the evening also witnessed, Mister Supranational 2018 – Prathamesh Maulingkar who sashed Varun Verma as Mr India Supranational 2019. A software engineer who evolved from a steady job to persuade his dreams as a model. He participated in Mr India 2016 where he won the Mr Perfect Body sub-contest. The handsome hunk owns his own Gym – Reshape with Varun and is a Fashion Influencer as well.

The eclectic evening saw many well-known faces and the presence of the who’s who of the city added to the excitement of the evening. The venue was riveting, and the evening whetted the appetites of the attendees and the winners alike.
