Kangana, Arnab are patriots but farmers fighting for their rights are traitors: Sanjay Raut attacks Center

Shiv Sena Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut on Friday slammed the government over Arnab Goswami and Kangana Ranaut while discussing the President’s address to the Rajya Sabha. Raut said, “who are the patriots in our country … Arnab Goswami, due to which an innocent person committed suicide in Maharashtra … Kangana Ranaut, she is a patriot … But the farmer fighting for his right is a traitor”.

Taking a dig at the Narendra Modi government Raut said that there is a new trend to charge anybody who questions the government of treason. Referring to farmers’ agitation, Raut said, “MPs, journalists are being booked under sedition cases, what kind of treatment you have meted out to them.

Raut also raised the issue of purported WhatsApp chats of Republic TV editor-in-chief Arnab Goswami in the Parliament, saying that the BJP-led NDA government “should be ashamed of protecting” him.

Raut also attacked the government on its handling of the farmers’ protest. While talking about the Republic Day incident, Raut said: “It should be made public that those who climbed the Red Fort and created ruckus, are close to whom… and why no action has been taken against Deep Sidhu?”

“This Sindhu has not been arrested but over 200 farmers have been arrested and kept at Tihar jail with a sedition case slapped on them,” he added.
