Jodhpur HC permits Salman Khan to attend the hearing of Blackbuck poaching case via video conferencing

A bench of CJ Inderjit Mohanty and Justice Manoj Garg of Jodhpur High Court granted permission to actor Salman Khan to attend the hearing of Blackbuck poaching case via video conferencing.
The lawyer for Salman Khan had submitted an application before the court seeking permission in this regard. The lawyer said that the actor should be allowed to miss the court’s proceedings keeping in mind the rising coronavirus cases in Rajasthan and other parts of the country.
Talking about it Saraswat said, “We moved the High Court with a prayer that he be permitted to appear via video conferencing from Mumbai.”
Salman was convicted for shooting and killing blackbucks in Kankani village near Jodhpur on the night of October 1, 1998, during the shooting of the film ‘Hum Saath Saath Hain’. His appeal against the case is pending. Khan was in 2018 sentenced to five years in prison in the poaching case.
Salman remained behind bars for two days at Jodhpur Central Jail before the 53-year-old actor was granted  bail by the court. The court, however, had said that the actor would need its permission if he wants to travel abroad while out on bail.
