J&K : Security Forces Giving Newly Recruited Terrorists A Chance To Return Home

Srinagar : During the operation against terrorists in Kashmir Valley, security forces are giving an opportunity to the young local youth newly recruited in terrorist groups. During about half a dozen operations, the security forces personnel brought the family members of the terrorist, their parents from 20-25 kilometers away. With which they appeal that if the youth who has become a terrorist wants to come back. The police assure that the family can take him, the police will not do anything against him.

DGP Dilbag Singh said that in most of the cases, the terrorists did not return from the place of encounter because the old terrorists with them did not let them do so. Or they fear that later terrorists will kill him and his family. Officials associated with the security force say that we are making every effort to win the trust of family members. We tell them that we are not fond of encounters. We take the family members to a place of encounter in a safe bunker. Give them a full chance. When the terrorist does not agree, action is taken as the last option.

When asked how it is known that there is a local young terrorist inside, the officials said that before the encounter, the terrorist makes a call to his family or relative or someone special. The police collect information from different sources and the relatives are brought in after the information is confirmed.

16 terrorists who were recruited returned
The terrorists may not have returned from the encounter site even if given a chance, but the 16 youths who were admitted were able to return to their homes due to the soft attitude of police and security forces. They had left their homes. The message was that they were going to become terrorists. The police told the family members that go and search, if you can bring him back, then we will not say anything. 16 such youth came back. The police did not take any action against them.

Caught 22 people alive and introduced them to the family
Apart from this, 22 of the youth admitted to the terrorist organization were caught alive this year. Due to some terrorist involvement, legal action had to be taken against them. But the police made it clear to the family that they too have a chance to improve. We have brought them alive so that if they want to live a new life then they can live.
