Jharkhand: Director of Nursing institute held for sexually molesting students

In a shocking incident of sexual assault, the head official of a nursing institute in Jharkhand has been held for groping students. Reports inform that the director of the Jharkhand-based NGO groped the nursing students on pretext of ‘testing their tolerance.

Several woman students of an NGO-run nursing institute, situated in Khunti district’s Tirla have accused the director of molesting them.

According to the victims, the director of the institute Bablu aka Parvez Alam groped the students by putting his hands under their clothes on the pretext of carrying out tests of their tolerance.  Reports states that the director targeted several students for a long period of time.

Social activist Lakshmi Bakhla wrote to the Governor after students shared their experiences with the activists.

Block Development Officer (BDO) launched a probe into the matter following the complaint and  team from the local Mahila Thana visited the institute.

The probe team submitted a report on their findings to Khunti SP Ashutosh Shekhar and arrested the director.
