Jamiyat Approach the Supreme Court, Angry with the News Spreading About Tabligi Jamaat Program

New Delhi : Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind last month accused a section of the media of spreading communal hatred by taking up the Tabligi Jamaat program and directed the Supreme Court to stop the propaganda and take strict action against those responsible for it.

The petition filed by Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind and its legal cell secretary said that the unfortunate incident of Tabligi Jamaat is being used to blame the entire Muslim community. At least 9,000 people attended the Tablighi Jamaat program in Nizamuddin Markaz last month.

The Union Health Ministry said on Monday that out of a total of more than 4,000 cases of coronavirus in the country, 1,445 cases were related to those who participated in the Tablighi Jamaat program.

The petition has demanded that the central government be directed to stop fake news and strict action should be taken against the media group for spreading communal hatred on the Nizamuddin Markaz case.

The petition also said that many fake reports and videos are being spread on social media, in which Muslims are being misreported. The appeal states that this demonstration of community poses a serious threat to the life and liberty of Muslims, and thereby violates their right to life under Article 21 of the Constitution.
