IRCTC cancels the operation of Tejas Express, ‘This’ is the reason

New Delhi : IRCTC, an enterprise of the Indian Railways, has announced to discontinue the service of Tejas Express for the present. The service of Tejas Express (Lucknow-New Delhi Tejas Express) running between Lucknow to New Delhi is being discontinued from 23 November 2020, while Tejas Express running between Ahmedabad to Mumbai (Mumbai-Ahmedabad Tejas Express) is being discontinued. The service is being discontinued from 24 November 2020.

The Tejas Express could not find passengers, due to which IRCTC has announced to cancel this train. According to IRCTC spokesperson Siddharth Singh, the service of Tejas Express running between Lucknow New Delhi Tejas and Ahmedabad to Mumbai has been announced. The service of these trains will be resumed if the situation becomes normal.

IRCTC has said that in the coming time, a decision will be taken regarding the operation of these trains keeping in mind the occupancy level of other trains running on these routes. The Tejas Express running between Lucknow-New Delhi (82501/82502) will not run from 23 November, while the Tejas train running between Mumbai Ahmedabad will be closed from 24 November. Earlier in order to deal with corona infection, the operation of these trains was stopped on March 19 this year.

IRCTC started operating the Tejas train on October 4 last year on the Lucknow-New Delhi route. After this, in January this year, this train was launched on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad route. Mumbai-Ahmedabad Tejas commenced operations on 17 October after operations were suspended for 7 months. However, in view of the low number of passengers, it has been decided to stop Tejas trains again.
