Iran Issues Arrest Warrant For US President Trump, Seeks Help From Interpol

Tehran: Iran has sought help from Interpol by issuing warrants for the arrest of US President Donald Trump and dozens of others over the death of a top Iranian general in a drone strike in Baghdad. A local prosecutor gave this information on Monday. Tehran prosecutor Ali Alkasemehar said that Trump and more than 30 people have been accused of involvement in the January 3 airstrikes. General Qasim Soleimani was killed in Baghdad in this attack.

Local prosecutor Ali Al Qaseemar said on Monday that Iran had issued an arrest warrant and asked Interpol for help to take the US President Donald Trump and dozens of others into custody. They believe that the incident that killed a top Iranian general in a drone attack in Baghdad was carried out by all these people.

US President Trump is under no threat of arrest, but as Trump unilaterally pulls the US back from Tehran’s nuclear deal with world powers, such accusations continue to escalate tensions between Iran and the United States.

Murder and terrorism case against 30 others
According to a report by ISNA, a semi-governmental news agency, local prosecutor Ali Alkasemehr said, ‘Trump and more than 30 people who have been accused by Iran of being involved in the January 3 airstrikes include the killing of General Qasim Soleimani in Baghdad. Trump and other 30 people have also been charged with murder and terrorism. Alkasemehar did not identify anyone other than Trump but insisted that Iran would continue to prosecute Trump even after he stepped down from his presidency. Interpol, based in Lyon, France, declined to comment at present.’
