Indian Railways to Start Counter Booking in 2-3 Days, 5 Lakh Tickets Sold in Just Two & a Half Hours Today : Piyush Goyal

New Delhi : Counter booking of Indian Railways is going to start in two to three days. Union Railway Minister Piyush Goyal gave the information today in a live conversation with Sambit Patra. He also informed that the railway department will start booking tickets at 1.7 lakh common service centers from tomorrow. During this time it will also be seen that there is no congestion like situation when booking starts at the counter.

Booking of train tickets will resume at around 1.7 lakh common service centres from tomorrow across the country. Bookings will also resume at counters of different stations in the next 2-3 days. We are developing a protocol in this regard: Railway Minister Piyush Goyal pic.twitter.com/TE9cB9UMCg

The Railway Minister said that earlier those who had made counter bookings and who could not get refund till now, would be able to go there and take refund after the booking started at the railway counter. Piyush Goyal said that in a few days more train services will also be started.

He told that online booking was to start for 200 trains running on 100 routes from today but only 75 routes have been started due to internet problems after cyclone havoc in the northeast. Goyal told that 5 lakh tickets have been sold for online booking starting at 10 am today.
