India-China Dispute : Indian Railway Cancels 471 Crore’s Contract With Chinese Firm

New Delhi: After the violent clashes in the Galwan valley in eastern Ladakh, tensions in India-China have increased immensely. Statements from both countries are constantly coming out. India has lost 20 of its soldiers. According to the source, it is being told that 40 and more than 40 soldiers of China have also been killed in this attack. However, no information has been given about it from China. There is huge tension on the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh.

Meanwhile, the Indian Railways Ministry has taken a big decision. The railway venture Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation Limited has canceled the ongoing contract with the Chinese firm Beijing National Railway Research and Design Institute of Signal and Communication Company Limited. According to the report, in fact, this Chinese company was given the work of signaling and telecom in the 417 km section between Kanpur to Deen Dayal Upadhyay railway section. This work was worth Rs 471 crore. In June 2016, this work was awarded to this Chinese firm under contract. But, according to the railways, even after 4 years of awarding the contract, only 20 per cent of the work was done by the Chinese company. The work was being done very slowly. After which this decision was taken.

Yesterday, Prime Minister Modi had warned China that China would have to pay the price of its fraud and cowardice. After that, such a decision has been taken. However, the railways cited the Chinese firm’s negligent attitude as the reason for the cancellation of the contract.
