If Vijay Mallya comes to India he will be kept in this Indian Jail

New Delhi: NP NEWS 24 ONLINE – On Monday The Westminster Magistrates’ Court in London ordered United Breweries chairman Vijay Mallya’s extradition to India. The verdict is a major breakthrough Vijay Mallya Fraud Case. In the case, he has been charged with defrauding loans of up to ₹9,000 crore. The case is in the hands of India’s supreme investigation agencies i.e. the Central Bureau of Investigation.

Mallya within in 14 days can go in higher court for against the decision in the UK . If his plea challenging his extradition is turned down, he will be extradited in the subsequent 28 days.

Chief Magistrate Emma Arbuthnot of the Westminster Magistrates’ Court ordered the extradition, saying there was “no evidence which allowed me to find that if extradited, Dr Mallya was at real risk of suffering a flagrant denial of justice”.

Holding that Mallya’s conduct “would constitute the offences of making false representations to make again for himself, conspiracy to defraud and money laundering”, she said, “I am sending Dr Mallya’s case to the Home Secretary of State for a decision to be taken on whether to order his extradition”.

Which Jail will Mallya stay in?

Vijay Mallya will reportedly be kept in Mumbai’s Arthur Road Jail’s barrack number 12 after his extradition from the UK. The cell will have facilities like TV, personal toilet and washing area. He will also be provided with clean mattresses, blankets and pillows, and his cell will be east-facing so that he gets natural light and ventilation.
