ICMR Rejects the Study that Claimed COVID-19 Peak may Arrive in India in Mid-November

New Delhi: Reports of coronavirus cases in India in November may be at peak and have been rejected by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR). This report claimed that there may be a shortage of ICU beds and ventilators in India when the cases are at peak.

ICMR has tweeted that the report is misleading. This is not done by ICMR. Also, it does not reflect our official position.

The news released by the news agency ‘PTI’ claimed that due to the eight-week lockdown, the peak level of the epidemic has been postponed for 34-76 days. By the end of the lockdown, 69–97% of cases were reduced.

According to Claim, all this information was talked about in the study of a research group formed by the Indian Council of Medical Research, which has now been rejected by the ICMR.

The report claimed that the situation would have worsened if the lockdown and public health measures were not implemented.
