Doctor husband injects HIV in wife’s body for divorce, FIR registered

PIMPRI: NP NEWS 24 ONLINE-In a shocking incident, a homeopath doctor allegedly injected human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) in his 27-year-old wife’s body while harassing her for dowry. An FIR has been registered against him at Wakad police station by the woman.

The woman and the accused doctor had got married in 2015. She was being allegedly harrassed physically and mentally for dowry. Her father gave some money but the accused demanded more. When she refused, the accused demanded to take divorce.

As per the woman’s complaint, in March when she fell ill, the accused treated her home and allegedly injected HIV virus in her body through saline. Later medical test revealed that she was found HIV positive.

Senior police inspector Satish Mane, in-charge of the police station, said that they are investigating how she became HIV positive. No arrest has been made in the case.

Police have booked her husband, father-in-lawand mother-in-law, all residents of Thergaon, for offences under sections 498 (a) (harrassment of married woman by husband and in-laws), 323 (assault), 504 (intentional insult), 506 (criminal intimidation), 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
