Gujarat: High court grants furlough to Asaram Bapu’s son Narayan Sai

Ahmedabad:  High Court of Gujarat has granted short term leave to self-styled godman Asaram Bapu’s son – Narayan Sai who is serving life imprisonment in a rape case of 2014.

Narayan Sai had applied for bail as his mother’s health was not good. The High Court has granted 14 day’s bail on a bond of Rs 5,000. Importantly, even before this, Narayan Sai had applied for 10 days bail, saying that his mother’s health was bad and her heart was working only 40 percent due to a previous heart attack.

Narayan Sai expressed his desire to meet the family. Following this, the High Court has ordered Narayan Sai to submit a personal bond of Rs 5,000 to the jail authorities.

A furlough is granted once a year to imprisoned convicts to enable them some time with family and society. Gujarat High Court ordered Narayan Sai to furnish a personal bond of Rs5000 before the jail authorities.

Asharam Bapu, the father of Narayan Sai is lodged in a prison in Jodhpur in Rajasthan. He was convicted by the Rajasthan High Court for the sexual assault of a minor. Another case in Gujarat is under trial in Gandhinagar Court.
