Govt. of ‘This’ State Launched Home Delivery Service of Liquor to Reduce Congestion at Shops

Raipur : To prevent congestion outside liquor shops in Coronavirus lockdown, the Chhattisgarh government has launched a web portal for home delivery of liquor in the state’s green zone. Through this facility, a customer can order online for 5000 ml of liquor at a time. In addition to the cost of liquor, customers will have to pay a delivery fee of Rs 120.

A web portal named CSMCL has been launched for online delivery of liquor. The Chhattisgarh State Marketing Corporation Limited controls the sale of liquor in the state and a portal has been started in the name of the same.

Liquor shops in the state were closed since 23 March and have been opened all over the state since Monday. On Monday, a large crowd was seen outside liquor shops in various cities of the state including Raipur and people were not even following social distance.

The official said that the state government has approved the online sale of liquor to reduce congestion at liquor shops. People can book orders directly through the CSMCL website or its mobile app. The mobile app can be downloaded from the Google Play Store. The official informed that home delivery facility will not be available in Raipur and Korba districts as both these districts are not placed in the green zone.

Officials said that the customer will have to register by entering his mobile number, Aadhaar card and full address. Registration will be confirmed through OTP. He informed that after registration, the customer has to login and after that it has been provided the facility to link a foreign liquor shop, a country and a premium liquor shop near his district. For customers, the convenience of viewing all the liquor shops in the district on Google map has also been provided, so that the customer can easily select the nearest store.

Officials said that liquor from the selected shop can be booked for supply at home. The customer is shown the list of liquor available in the respective liquor store and its price, from which he can purchase the liquor of his choice as per his requirement. He told that the customer can get upto 5000 ML at a time through liquor home delivery from a liquor shop. Officials said that the customer will automatically receive the OTP if the liquor booked by the customer is packed by the supervisor. On delivery of the liquor ordered by the delivery boy, they will have to pay the price of the liquor and delivery charge of Rs. 120.
