Fully Loaded Truck in 1997 was stolen by the DSP Davinder Singh ; NIA Raids His Residence

NP NEWS 24 : Srinagar : On Wednesday, two teams of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) raided Srinagar’s Indira Nagar, Naugam and elsewhere, under the trail of former DSP of Jammu and Kashmir Police Davinder Singh, a terrorist. It also includes a local doctor’s house. Some important documents and other material have been recovered during this raid. Meanwhile, another person Irfna Mushtaq has been arrested in this case. It is said to be the kin of a terrorist arrested with DSP.

According to the information, the doctor whose house the NIA team has raided, told that Davinder had provided shelter to terrorist Naveed Babu for a few days. After the raid, a team of top NIA officers left for Delhi. While the other 5-members of team has stayed there for investigation after new revelations in the matter. Sources reveal that Davinder and the other accused were to be taken to Delhi by the NIA team but are yet to be taken on remand. After the arrest of DSP, the investigating agencies has seized Rs 10 lakh cash, an AK 47 rifle and two pistols collected from his house in Indira Nagar.

According to sources, a NIA report mentions a truck carrying butter. It is alleged that in 1997, it was stolen by Davinder Singh. The truck belonged to a family member of then deputy CM Ghulam Mohiuddin Shah. Even after a case of theft was registered, a top police officer who was the boss of DSP at that time, had saved him.

Not only this, three houses of DSP have also been mentioned in the report, two of which are in Srinagar and one in Jammu. It is being told that these houses have been built with extortion money.

It is alleged that the arrested DSP implicated innocent youth in extremism related cases and recovered extortion money from them. He was also involved in several fake encounters. In addition, the report describes how Davinder Singh was rescued by an IG rank officer in 1992 when he had sold the seized drugs to smugglers.
