Four policemen suspended for looting a jeweller showing fear of Model Code of Conduct
NPnews24 Online: Latur – A complaint was registered of Rs. 1.5 lakh robbery from a jeweller in Udgir (Latur) by showing the fear of the Model Code of Conduct. Accordingly, 4 police personnel have been arrested and they have been suspended from service, said Special Inspector General of Police (Law and Order) Milind Bharambe.
Jewellery trader Sachin Balaji Channawar of Udgir ( Latur) lodged a complaint with the Ploce Superintendent , Latur. While going home with cash worth Rs 6 lakh last night, 4 police personnel stopped him and inquired about the money. After taking away Rs 1.5 lakh by showing the threat of the code of conduct, the remaining amount was given back to Mr. Channawar.
According to the complaint of Channawar, an offense was registered against Police constable Shreehari Ram Davargave, Shyam Prabhakar Bade, Mahesh Bapurao Khelge and Ramesh Pandharinath Birle under I.P.C. section 392, 384, 34. The four have been arrested and Latur Superintendent of Police has suspended them from the service.
