Four, including husband, booked for physically assaulting a woman in Kothrud
Pune : NpNews24 Online – Pune Crime News | A married woman was being brutally tortured to bring dowry from her father’s home. She was beaten with a burning wood. Her hands and feet were tied and paste of chili powder was stuffed into her mouth, ears and eyes. (Pune Crime News)
The 22-year-old married woman lodged a complaint at the Kothrud Police Station. The police registered a case against Nagesh Kartik Sahebanne (23), Ratna Kartik Sahebanne (42), Mahadevi Jadhav (58) and Limbaraj Bhise (58) from Kelewadi under the Domestic Violence and Dowry Prohibition Act. The incident took place from October 2021 to February 20, 2023 at Girija Society in Kelewadi and Sutardara at the complainant’s residence.
According to the police, the complainant and Nagesh Sahebanne were married in October 2021. She was abused, beaten and tortured for bringing dowry from her father’s home. The complainant suffered burns in hands, feet, eyes and lips several times. After tying the complainant’s hands and feet, the paste made from mixing chili powder with water was put into the complainant’s mouth, ears and eyes. The complainant was seriously injured.
