Foreigner nabbed with Cocaine drug in Lonavala

Pune: NP NEWS 24 ONLINE– Officers of Narcotics Cell, Customs, Pune arrested a foreign national, citizen of Cote d’Ivoire Mr. Guehi Justin, on 28-10-2018, at Lonavala for trafficking of Cocaine. a narcotics drug banned under the NDPS Act, 1985.

On the basis of an information regarding trafficking of Cocaine, the officers of Narcotics Cell. Customs, Pune kept a vigil and surveillance outside the premises of a popular resort in Lonavala” on 27.10.2018. At about 21:25 hrs one foreign national named Mr. Guehi Justin was noticed entering one of the rooms of the aforesaid resort. He was apprehended for possessing a plastic packet purportedly to be containing around 25 gms of Cocaine a narcotics drug valued at Rs.1,87,500 in Indian illicit market which was seized by the officers, under Panchnama under the provisions of the NDPS Act 1985. He has been ordered Judicial Custody of 14 days by the Hon’ble JMFC Court, Tal. Maval, Pune district.

Investigation revealed that the accused person is citizen of Cote d’Ivoire and came to India (Delhi) on a business visa in the year 2017 and is presently living at Kharghar, Mumbai. He collected a small plastic packet containing cocaine from a person at Kharghar which was to be delivered to a customer in Lonavala. As per preliminary investigation, this is the first time he has attempted delivery of cocaine to any customer. Further investigations on the suppliers and Not clients is underway. The investigation is being carried out under the supervision of the Additional Commissioner Customs, Pune, Pawan Kumar, and guidance of Deputy Commissioner Incharge Narcotics Cell. Shri Suhail A.
