Foiled Infiltration Bid Along LoC: Two Terrorists Killed in Baramulla Encounter

In Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir, security forces successfully thwarted an infiltration attempt along the Line of Control (LoC) on Friday. Troops stationed in the Rampur sector detected a group of three to four terrorists trying to cross the LoC at Sabura Nala during the early hours of the day and engaged them in an encounter, according to officials.

In a coordinated effort by the Indian Army and the Jammu and Kashmir Police, two terrorists were neutralized, while another managed to escape. One terrorist’s body was recovered by own forces, while the body of the second terrorist remained across the LoC, making retrieval impossible.

Pakistan army posts were reported to have fired upon own troops near the Line of Control to assist the terrorists and recover the body of the deceased militant. This operation by the Indian Army underscores Pakistan’s role in supporting terrorism, especially during a period when general elections are scheduled to take place in a month. Operations in the region are ongoing.
