First after ordinance, man arrested for giving triple talaq

Lucknow : Npnews24 online – In a major setback, Uttar Pradesh Police has arrested a man on the orders of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

This is the first such case came into effect after the ordinance came into force, police arrested Zikru Rehman, a resident of  Malpur area, after his wife Tarannum Begum complained to CM Yogi that her husband had given her triple talaq.

She received an endlessly tortured by Rehman since marriage and was given triple talaq last week and she requested to take action against her husband.

Expressing her happiness over the quick action by the UP Chief Minister’s office, Tarannum Begum had faith that Chief Minister Yogi will take action in her case and she was very grateful for the prompt action.
