Despite of several reminders, it seems that the fraudulent cases won’t come to an end! In a shocking incident, a girl who trusted her friend on social networking site blindly got cheated with lakhs of Rupees by Mumbai based con person who personated as film director

In this regard, the Pune city police have arrested Tushar Madhurkar Deshmukh under the relevant section of Indian Penal Code comprises of cheating the girl and was allegedly lured giving her opportunity in films and later under some business scheme took Rs 10 lakh from her. A case has been registered with Sahakarnagar police station by girl (23). Arrested person Tushar is a resident of Shwetapasun building, Plot no. 301, third floor, Saagar Dairy road, Shivaji Chowk, Kulgaon, Badlapur. For past two months he was on run and later based on the tip off informationon Monday he was zero down at Shivajinagar and arrested him.

The victim girl and the criminal Tushar became friends on facebook after which he disguised and fooled the victim, who dreamt of becoming a famous actress. He personated the girl that he was a Film maker who wanted to cast the girl in a movie and lured the girl telling her that this is a golden opportunity for her to get all the stardom and be famous.

The girl believed to what he said and did as he told her to. Later on, the girl was told that due to a setback in our business, we need to give a pause to the production of the movie. He succeeded in manipulating the girl and frauded her to take 10,70,400/- to pay via account transfer and later on demanded more 4 lacs, a total of 14,70,400/- which she paid.

After which all contacts to the accused was disabled, as he switched off his cell phone, left his residence. He tried his best possible way to fool the girl.

The girl in shock immediately filed a complaint against the culprit in Sahakarnagar Police station, near Padmavati Temple, Pune.

Police Sub Inspector K B Jadhav who is investigating the case said, “We were trying to trace the culprit out and grab him for about two months after he fled away from his residence creating a crime. We zero down him at Shivajinagar bus station while he was attempting to depart to Nashik from Pune. Finally, we have succeeded in catching hold of him and putting him behind the bars. He is in police custody right now.”

With the increase in the incidents of people being fooled by the cheaters, the people are still not ready to inspect a person before trusting him blindly. Here is what you need to know before trusting strangers on social media:

• Check the genuineness of profile: Go through the profile of the person before you decide to make him/her your friend. Don’t fall into the trap of the details of the profile which may mold your thoughts and manipulate you.
• Mutual friends: Check for the Mutual friends of the respective person. The more the number of mutual friends, the more is the probability of the person being genuine.
• Use your sources: Try to know about the people, research and use your sources to get enough information about the person.
• Avoid meeting the stranger initially: Do not be eager to meet the stranger in person, as you never know any mis-hap may take place with you.
