Director and actress of porn movies arrested from Gujarat by Mumbai police

Mumbai : The Mumbai Police has arrested the director of porn movies, in a case related to the porn film making gang. A total of nine people, including an actress, have been arrested so far in this case. A senior police official said on Wednesday that the gang that made porn movies was busted last week.

He said that the 40-year-old ninth accused were arrested by the property cell of the city’s crime branch from Surat in Gujarat on Tuesday. The official said that the accused used to direct nude films of the actors and sent them to the Over the Top (OTT) platforms. The officer said that the accused had been involved in such acts for over a year. He was produced in court which sent him to police custody till 15 February.

Last week, the police’s property cell raided a bungalow in Madh of Malwani area and busted a gang of models and actors making porn films. They used to upload these porn movies on social media apps and websites. Initially, five people were arrested, the official said. Later three more people were arrested. He said that those arrested included an actress and a representative of a foreign production house.

The officer said that a woman alleged that she had been forced to act in porn films. An FIR has also been lodged by the police on her complaint. A total of two FIRs have been registered so far. In the raids conducted last week, the police seized six mobile phones, a laptop, cameras, memory cards and other devices worth Rs 5.68 lakh. The officer said that a case has been registered against the accused under the provisions of Indian Penal Code, Information and Technology Act, Indecent Depiction of Women (Prevention) Act.
