COVID19 Ahmedabad death toll rises

Ahmedabad : Coronavirus cases are continuously on rise and so many corpses are being brought to crematorium and graveyards in Ahmedabad every day that the funeral process does not stop. While 25-30 corpses are being brought to the crematorium, in graveyards also, dead bodies are being piled. An average of 3 dead bodies are being brought to the cemetery every 2 hours. The funeral is taking place round the clock. There is a 4-4 hour waiting period in the hearse.

The city’s crematorium as well as graveyards have reported that about 13 to 14 deaths a day have been reported from Corona, while the number of corpses being brought here are 25-30. There are piles of corpses in the main crematorium and three corpses are being brought every two hours. The number of people reaching cemeteries is also much higher. Also, there is waiting for about four hours to take the corpse to the funeral home.

After Diwali, the situation in Ahmedabad is deteriorating and people are running out of hospital beds. According to government figures, 13-14 patients are dying every day in the city.
